Bridal Skincare

Here’s my bridal skincare advice on how to prepare you skin for your wedding day…

I would highly recommend at least one facial in the lead up the big day. Your skin will thank you for it. Also, go makeup free as much as possible and keep a good skincare routine in place. I wore no makeup for about a month in the lead up to my wedding and drank lots of water. My skin was was the best it had ever been. If, like me, you’re one of those unfortunate people that only gets a spot when it’s highly inconvenient, then heed my advice!

Skincare Products

Not just for bridal skincare, but I’m a fan of natural products. I adore Mario Badescu products because they smell lovely and natural and they are such amazing prices. Liz Earle is great and if you can’t afford to splurge on facials, her hot cloth cleanser has worked miracles on some of my friends that have tried it. Another brand that won’t break the bank is Embryolisse. It is fairly neutral to your skin. Another good option is Micellar Water, and Bioderma do one as a cleanser which is great for quickly removing makeup or doing a speedy face wash.

Whichever brand you choose, be careful not to leave it too close to your wedding to start using it – just in case you have a reaction to it. I would suggest starting a skincare routine as soon as possible. It’s good for you in general, not only in the lead up to the big day. Remember, it doesn’t need to be extortionate to work. Some people swear by Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream. I would love to use it all the time but it retails at £70. I tend to switch between skincare brands. It’s better to stick with the same one but I love finding new products that work even better with my skin. Plus, doing this allows me to give better advice to my clients!

Assess Your Face

With bridal skincare, it is vital that you really assess your face well before the big day. Do you have dry skin? Oily skin? Combination skin? Your skincare should fit you otherwise it won’t be benefiting you.

As cliché as it may sound, drink water. Hydrate! It will benefit you and your skin will look at its healthiest. Try to get rest and avoid stress. I know how stressful wedding planning is but you need to get sleep to avoid bags under your eyes. There’s a reason why it’s called beauty-sleep!

Remember, your picture is being taken all day. To feel and look at your best you need to take care of yourself, inside & out. Check out my Wedding Makeup Service.
